I’ve got DIY furniture on the brain.
We went ahead and bought the sideboard from the local used furniture store last weekend, and spent Saturday sanding, priming and accidentally staining our deck with quick-dry BIN. It took all day just to prep the piece – and I have no problem blaming our slow progress on the 80-degree-temperature and swarm of hornets AND bees surrounding us as we worked.
This weekend, we hope to move on to the Paint phase. If we can decide on a color, that is.
Anyway, when it comes to DIY furniture projects, I’m still a newbie in execution, but I have Research & Development down pat. To wit: this selection of dresser make-overs featured on designsponge, my go-to site for Before and Afters.
Here’s a great dresser-turned-bath vanity on the site today:

Love the distressed treatment and paper top (not so much the hardware):

And this dresser-turned-nicer-dresser:

Barb from Knack Studios doing it again:

Not a dresser, but a totally cute desk transformed.
